Hey Bladers!
The time has come— on 3/21/2023 Takara Tomy released a new teaser promo video about the next generation of Beyblade!
They’re dubbing it “Beyblade X” and are keeping the mystery and suspense for now.
They started by showing the history of Beyblade through its three major systems; the original plastic Beyblade series, Metal Saga, and Burst. They could be hinting that the 4th gen combines all, but Burst already seemed to do that. The main aspect that Burst was missing was metal to metal blade/layer contact. Sometimes the forge discs could be utilized to hit in combos, but it was never as direct as Metal Saga.
What Takara Tomy did confirm in the video is that the new system will have new gear and a new stadium. Dynamite Battle already had an awesome new standard beystadium, so this is no surprise, but a “new gear” can mean a lot of different things.
Does this mean there’s an additional part beyond what we saw in Burst? Is it an attachment or a whole other piece?
One way we can gather clues is by counting the layers in the screenshot above. It looks like there are now a total of 6 sections. The blade layer seems to have a top piece that might go as wide as the blade, instead of the standard cores and GT chips that have all gone inside, as well as the armors. It also looks like the driver might have multiple pieces similar to previous generations. If the middle section is still the forge disc, then that might still be the same. Do you see 6 layers, less, or more?
Sadly, no indication of any smart device controls yet, but you never know!
There’s plenty to be excited about, so check out their official video below if you haven't already, and let us know in the comments what you think!
